Athlete are a 4 piece band from Deptford, London. They first emerged in around 2002 but it was there 2003 acclaimed debut album Vehicles and Animals that earned them a Mercury Music Prize nomination and the start of a successful career. They have since enjoyed a number one album and received an Ivor Novello award for the song 'Wires' as 'best contemporary song'.

The band invested in an M4 console in 2006 for the making of their third album Beyond the Neighbourhood which they used the M4 for tracking and mix down.
